NYC Subway Live Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 10/8/2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Neon Worms LLC (“Neon Worms,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in NYC Subway Live (the “App”). It applies only to the App. Our website is covered by our company Privacy Policy.

The Short Version

I. Your Location

If you allow it, the App reads your device’s location while you are using it, never in the background. It uses your location to show your position on the map, center the map near you, and show your nearest saved commute first. This happens entirely on your device: the App doesn’t store your location, and it never sends it to us or anyone else.

Location access is optional, and the rest of the App works without it. You can turn it off at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > NYC Subway Live.

II. Information Stored on Your Device

The commutes you save with the star (each is just a station, a line, and a direction) and simple settings, such as whether you have seen the App’s first-launch tip, are stored only on your device. We never receive them.

To remove a commute, tap its star again. Deleting the App removes all of its data from your device.

III. Live Train Data

Train positions, arrival predictions, and service alerts come from public transit data that we obtain from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) and store on our own server. The App downloads this data from our server. These requests don’t include your location, your saved commutes, or any account or advertising identifier.

Like any web server, ours receives your device’s IP address and basic technical details with each request, such as the time of the request and the versions of the App and your operating system. We use this information only to deliver the data and to keep the service running and secure. Our server may record it in standard server logs, which are deleted automatically within 30 days. We don’t use it to identify you, build a profile, or track you, and we don’t combine it with other data.

NYC Subway Live is an independent app. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the MTA.

IV. What We Don’t Do

V. Crash Reports from Apple

If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers (in Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements), Apple may provide us with crash reports and aggregated usage statistics for the App. Apple controls what is shared, and we use it only to fix bugs and improve the App.

VI. When We Share Information

We don’t share information about you except: with service providers that host our server, which process it only on our behalf; when required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or others; or as part of a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition.

VII. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

VIII. Your Choices

You control the App’s access to your location in your device settings, and you can remove saved commutes or delete the App at any time. Because the App has no accounts or profiles, we don’t keep information that identifies you. If you have a privacy question or request, email us at info@neonworms.studio.

IX. Changes to This Policy

If we change how the App handles information, we will update this page and the “Last Updated” date above before the change takes effect.
