Smart Park NYC Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 10/8/2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Neon Worms LLC (“Neon Worms,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in Smart Park NYC (the “App”). It applies only to the App. Our website is covered by our company Privacy Policy.

The Short Version

I. Your Location

If you allow it, the App reads your device’s location while you are using it, never in the background. It uses your location to show your position on the map, find fire hydrants and parking rules near you, and, in Drive mode, look up the blocks ahead of you.

Location access is optional. Without it, the App looks up hydrants and parking rules around the middle of the map instead. You can turn location off at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Smart Park NYC.

II. Our Server

To find hydrants and parking rules, the App sends the location being looked up (your position, the middle of the map, a point just ahead of you in Drive mode, or your parked spot) to our server. These requests don’t include your name, an account, or any device or advertising identifier. Our server uses the location only to look up public New York City data, such as hydrant locations and posted parking regulations, and doesn’t store it.

Like any web server, ours receives your device’s IP address and basic technical details with each request, such as the time and the versions of the App and your operating system. Our hosting provider automatically keeps logs of these requests for 90 days and then deletes them. The logs include your IP address, those technical details, and the web address of each request. In Drive mode, that address identifies a roughly 1,000-foot square of the map near your car. We don’t use these logs to identify you, build a profile, or track you, and we don’t combine them with other data.

III. Information Stored on Your Device

When you save where you parked, the App stores that spot, the parking rules around it, and the times of your reminders on your device. It also remembers small settings, such as whether you have seen the Drive mode safety notice. This information stays on your device. Clearing your parked car removes the spot and its reminders, and deleting the App removes all of its data.

Reminders are notifications scheduled on your device. The App asks for permission to send notifications the first time you set one, and it doesn’t use a push notification service.

IV. Maps

The App uses Apple Maps to draw the map. Apple handles the map requests your device makes under Apple’s own privacy policy.

V. What We Don’t Do

VI. Older Versions

Versions 1.0.1 through 1.0.4 of the App showed ads through Google AdMob, which may have collected information about your device for advertising under Google’s privacy policy. Later versions don’t show ads or include AdMob. If you still have an older version, update the App from the App Store.

VII. Crash Reports from Apple

If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers (in Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements), Apple may provide us with crash reports and aggregated usage statistics for the App. Apple controls what is shared, and we use it only to fix bugs and improve the App.

VIII. When We Share Information

We don’t share information about you except: with service providers that host our server and database, which process it only on our behalf; when required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or others; or as part of a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition.

IX. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

X. Your Choices

You control the App’s access to your location and notifications in your device settings, and you can clear your parked car or delete the App at any time. Because the App has no accounts or profiles, we don’t know who you are, and we don’t link our server logs to anyone. If you have a privacy question or request, email us at info@neonworms.studio.

XI. Changes to This Policy

If we change how the App handles information, we will update this page and the “Last Updated” date above before the change takes effect.
